Well I just got this problem about 2 days ago.I get the blue screen of death saying that sometimes in the middle of something and I have to shut off my laptop the WRONG way.Then sometimes it freezes and I have to shut it off the wrong way.Also It SOMETIMES(not always) shuts off by itself or trys to restart by itself.Even when I try to flip over my laptop to see the back of it it shows the blue screen of death.

Since you have a number of signs and symptoms, you might want to first read the massive amount of material on www.microsoft.com you can find with a search of DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Then do a similar search with Google or another search engine.
The problem is usually linked to errors in devices or their drivers... and we don't yet know your system configuration.

If your Thinkpad a 600X, or a T-20, T-21, T-22, T-23, or T-30? And what is the 7-digit service tag number on the label on the bottom?
