Hi to all.
Fo Doug my friend, I exported all his messages from his desktop into a csv file.
I then imported them into his laptop because he wanted all his messages on his portable system for work. It didn't recognize the folders and placed all messages together.
What am I doing wrong?
TIA Basil.

I use a more manual technique. I look up the "store folder" in the mail options. I then copy that directory structure (files included) over to the new comp (or user account if it's the same comp) I then update the store folder for the new comp (or user account) to point it and VOILA!! Works every time.

Hi and thanks Andy. How do I - and I quote from your message -

It's Easy!

It's easy!

Outlook/Outlook Express -> Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder

This will give you the directory path to where the folder is that stores all your mailboxes and info. I usually copy everything from Local Settings and downward.

For Outlook, go to-

C:\Windows\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (or similar)

and look for the .pst file.There are other files to copy over too.

See HERE for all the details.
