Windows XP - blue screen and then no login box

I'm new here so here it goes,

I tried this morning to turn on my computer like normally then when it goes to the login menu it just shows a blank blue screen and no login box. Normally it shows the blue screen and then the whole ctrl + alt + delete thing, and then I login, but it doesn't show it. Even when I try to login in safe mode it shows the same thing. I try restarting it and restarting but nothing works at all, and I have no idea what to do.

So if you have anything that would help, I would appreciate it very much. comments welcome
