Random Button Activation
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM :
I purchased a Dell Inspiron 1501 recently, and seem to have a problem with regards the left button on the touchpad. MANIFESTATION OF THE PROBLEM : It is when playing certain games in which the left button of the touchpad has been allocated as the FIRE button that it goes seems to be activated at random. For instance, when stealthily approaching an enemy, the fire button randomly goes off blowing my cover. This is spoiling any enjoyment of games in which this (the most convenient button) is activated without my touching it. SOLUTION TRIED I tried the various functions regarding sensitivity of the touchpad etc but to no avail because the primary button is associated with the sensitivity of the pad per se. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance, anathemata |

Problem solved. It was a new Dell Inspiron 1501 from the Dell Outlet. Over the weekend I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the symtec touchpad and it now seems to be working ok for now. Many thanks for the suggestions.
