I have been noticing a what appears to be a trend on forums nowadays where the person normally ends there post with part of there last name for example if were to end my post with "Jac".

I see it mainly on game forums such as World of Warcraft where this person with his character named "Bobmarlee" would always end his post with "Bob".. So my question is, how long do you think this trend will go on for?

I have no idea and find it to be pretty dumb, as it makes the box above your post containing your username redundant.

I admittedly used to do it, but have stopped, since I find no good reason to do it.

My addy is a shortened version of my name alpha numerically so I see no point in shortening it further & as Jesse_hz says what's the point? I think it's just a sort of "cool" phase kids think they are going through?
