Setting up MIDI playback in Ubuntu
Hello,
I've been trying to get midi playback to work in ubuntu, but I have had no luck so far. My other sound playback works, but not midi. I have an Audigy soundcard with a hardware synth for midi. This is driving me crazy because it was so easy to set up in Windows! I've tried playing around with ALSA and Jack to get it working. If anyone knows how to set up midi playback in ubuntu, it'd be much appreciated as all the help I've found so far is well... not helpful. Thanks, Chris |

Well, it looks as though I have found a solution to this problem. I had not loaded a soundfont in Ubuntu. Here's a link to the site with instructions on how to do this...http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-30963.html
Midi seems to be working now. -Chris |
