Texas Memory Systems showcases 2TB flash memory rack

Quote:
At this year's Siggraph convention in San Diego Texas Memory Systems has showed off what a rack and lots and lots of flash memory chips can do. The RAMSAN-500 rack comes to solve both storage space and access time issues by featuring up to 2TB of flash memory in addition to the maximum of 64 GB of DDR2 memory.

The storage rack is focused towards video editing work needs and comes with latencies of only 0.15 ms and a write time of 0.5 ms. Set to be released in Q4 (2007), the RAMSAN-500 will cost a small fortune with a price tag of $400,000 being put on the 2TB version. Or you could get a Lamborghini Murciélago.
