Hey guys can anyone help

i've been assigned to wipe two hard drives on MAC SE computers
i've never used or troubleshoot a mac pc before
so i don't know how would i go about when trying to erase these mac hard drives.
I would really apreciate any help that you may give.
Thanks!

those drives are SCSI based! You need a scsi enclosure with power supply,
an appropriate cable (there are 3), a system with a scsi card.

move the HD to the enclosure and then you could then cable up to another system(do not hot-plug scsi; power off the system!) and run FORMAT.

IF the Mac SE will boot, you can just delete all application files and save $$$ and time.

Yes, but I take it the reason for the 'wiping' is so that they can be given to new owners. A machine without an O/S would be pretty useless. I am just trying to establish what the intentions are :p

I wipe all HDs when I donate or even trash a system -- S E C U R I T Y and privacy :)

the MAC Se is a 80086 Motorola chip running --- get this -- 10mhz!

no one would try to use one :)

lol You'd be surprised!! There are some Mac enthusiasts there that would give anything for one of them!!!

Well they're certainly nice conversation pieces :)
(btw: the os would be 7.1)

We started with Macs in '89 with a IIci at 25mhz, 512mb and a whole 120mb hd
and thru the years have move to a 9500 and now an eMac.
