New ram not working

hey guys, i bought a new ram stick (NANYA PC2-4200U-12-A1) 512MB DDR2 and it doesnt seem to work, the problem is that when i install this ram on my motherboard (Intel Pentium 865)and turn on my computer it restarts at the windows logo screen..

p.s.
i also have the the exact same ram stick installed on my motherboard

Please clarify = is the second stick you have installed on this board? If so, try swapping them in the slots. Also try the new one on its own. If that does not work, it may be bad so take it back and swap it.
