looking for Compaq C3 1000 Printer Driver

I am fixing an old computer for a Navy Chaplain and he has a Compaq C3 1000 printer that he wants to keep. He is staying with Windows ME for whatever reason and I am unable thus far to find a driver for it.

Thanks, but that didnt work.

I went to Compaqs website and downloaded the driver for ME. It still doesnt work and upon any reboot, tells me "a1000 caused a problem and mmsystem.dll will close."
