Conversion software
Is there any conversion software to make appleworks 6 readable in a pc or to just convert it to word. I would like free if possible. I have some docs on a mac with an os of 9.2 and want to get all the stuff to pc format. Anyone care to comment?

If you can save the files in ASCII or opendocument format, you can load them into openoffice which in turn can save in just about any format.

Perform a SAVE AS and choose the RTF option, which is portable to 99.9% of all
word processing programs, even across platforms (Mac, Linux, Win/*). Then you can copy or even email them to the system of your choice. |

Alright. Sounds good. Should I put .doc at the end of the save? It is saved on a server that the mac and pc are on. So all I should have to do is save it to the server and it should be able to be read by the pc?

the SAVE AS ... rtf should change the extension to rtf, eg
foo.doc -> SAVE AS ->becomes foo.rtf Both the PC and a Mac should respond properly to dbl-clicking on the new name. If not, on the Mac just launch your word processing program and then OPEN the file. |
