GIGABYTE GV-NX86T256H GeForce 8600GT
ASUS EN8600GT SILENT/HTDP/256M GeForce 8600GT

the asus has a higher resolution ,and the gigabyte is factory overclocked....those are the only differences..and of course the heatsinks

but since the gigabyte is overclocked and is still the same temp as the asus...that shud mean if i put the normal clockspeed the GIGABYTE should run cooler, right?

Tech hounds says the gigabyte is 61c and the asus is 62c idle im guessing

this review says the gigabyte goes 57 idle and 79c on load http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTM3OSw5LCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==

and this review says the asus runs as at 54c on idle, but doesnt give a load temp

Too many factors involved for a simple answer... and the results will be insignificant, in any case.

I have the asus, and am very happy with it. If you want me to run any tests on it, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

whats the idle temp, and whats the temp after uve played a HD video/movie or pc game.....try to get it on full load.....work it real hard

My idle temp is between 47-50C. I'm working on a load temp for you. I'll post a temp monitor picture for you when I'm done.

This card is in my htpc, so it doesn't have the best cooling, the case has a 120mm intake(slow rpm), and the psu's 80mm fan for exhaust. This is not an optimum cooling setup.

Edit:

So far I haven't seen it above 64C, but I didn't test it very long. I just did an aquamark3 run, ran super pi(to heat up case), and ran 3dmark06. So it seems to idle around 50C, and load is aprox. 64C (long term load is probably a few degrees higher).
