I have an odd situation. My USB device flashes in Explorer but then goes away. It is trying to take an empty drive letter so I don't understand why it isn't staying. Can anyone help!? Thanks!

Is this an external hard drive? Is it formatted?

Have you looked in Disk Management? (Rt Click on My Computer and choose Manage)
Does it show up in there?
