Replaced mobo, now mod bay not working

Latitude C640:
Replaced the mobo due to heat/fan issues. It would shut down after a short time, eventually not booting at all.

The new mobo was an eBay special... Install was fine, and used Paragon's Service Tag fix. Worked like a charm! Thanks!

Problem:
Fortunately, the mobo & mod bay will accept the floppy drive. Unfortunately, it will only accept the DVD Rom drive if I push on it a bit and won't even recognize the cd-rw-dvd drive. It's seems to not want to "click" into place, tho it is locked in.

Solution?

System specs
The mod port may be defective or an incorrect screw may be causing the CD ROMs not to fully seat

If it's a defective mod port... Just out of curiosity, how difficult would it be to replace it with the old mobo one? If it can be screwed or glued, I'm good with it, but no soldering. LOL
I'm guessing the mobo metal cover would need to be removed... Is this possible or am I looking at going to an external drive? I'm not afraid of the guts, just need a little guidance as I haven't messed with mobos much.
Thank you,
-Andi
