Merging Hardrives on Vista

I am operating an HP laptop that came with Windows Vista Home Premium, it also came with 2 separate hard drives and i was wondering if there was any way to make them into a single logical drive, ive heard about RAID btw but have no clue how it works or even where to start so if there are any other options they would be preferable, thx

Are the hard drives actually inside the laptop itself? Doing RAID or spanning with a detachable hard drive (inside a dock or whatever) is a bad idea.

yea they are inside the laptop, both 100gb drives btw, but llike i said no clue where to start with RAID
