WinDVD's Enhanced Support for Intel Clear Video Tech

SAN FRANCISCO, California – September 18, 2007 – Corel Corporation (NASDAQ:CREL) (TSX:CRE), a leading developer of graphics, productivity and digital media software, today announced that Intel will demonstrate the Corel WinDVD® enhanced support for Intel’s Clear Video Technology at the Intel® Developer Forum taking place from September 18 to 20, 2007 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The companies will be featured at IDF’s Technology Showcase. OEM and retail versions of WinDVD, featuring enhanced support for Intel® Clear Video Technology, will be available beginning in the Fall of 2007.

Delivering both performance and picture enhancements on Microsoft® Windows Vista™ and Windows® XP, WinDVD will take full advantage of Intel’s G965/GM965/G33/G35 Express chipsets, which incorporate the Intel Clear Video Technology. These chipset decoding enhancements enable smooth playback of high-definition content while the post processing enhancements, including de-interlacing, noise reduction, sharpness and color control, deliver improved visual quality for standard definition video content.

“Corel WinDVD combined with Intel’s graphics-enabled chipsets will deliver a much more engaging and entertaining experience for our users, providing them with an affordable HD-ready video playback platform,” said Blaine Mathieu, Vice President and General Manager, Products and Strategy, Digital Media at Corel. “Corel’s focus is on creating software that enriches the way our users live, work and play. We are pleased to work with Intel to enhance the performance and quality of video playback for today’s consumers.”

“Intel and Corel are working together to push the boundaries of the PC entertainment experience,” said Intel’s Richard Malinowski, Vice President, Mobility Group and General Manager, Chipset Group. “Intel Clear Video Technology combined with Corel WinDVD enables desktop and notebook users to enjoy feature films and home videos in crystal-clear high-definition.”
