Need Help With Microsoft Works (operating system is XP)

Please help...I am desperate! In our office there are four computers with Works. I just got a new one (Dell Vostro 200) and I am the only one having this issue. I cannot open files in Works that have under scores in the title. I get e-mail reports from someone outside of the company, so there isn't a way to change the names of the files before I open them. Please help...I don't understand why these will open on all the other computers but mine...AARGGHH!

What is your security system? Have you run scans for infestations?
Are these documents in Works Word?
If so, I would just remove and reinstall the works program using the product ID that came with the system.

Old versions of Works {designed for '98 etc} don't work too well with XP.

I've seen this trouble B4, only spreadsheets will open, not documents??

Using a later version {it's up to 9 now} will sort it out. I've heard anything from 4.5 is OK - but thats hearsay and I can't vouch for it.

oh- using works? Absolute crap. Use openoffice. It can export into many different formats, PDF, DOC, XML, etc... it's a full and free office suite and pretty much compatible with M$ office. www.openoffice.org

Also download thunderbird as an email client. www.mozilla.com
