In a word no. Both use different dimm slots and are not compatible with each other.

Aren't all memory SDRAM? DDR SDRAM, DDRII SDRAM and such?

I see what you mean mate, but there are differences. See HERE.

So SDRAM is the type of memory like flash memory and stuff, DDR, DDR2, and DDR3 are variations of it, and the DIMM is the plug.

Taken from the above link.

Quote:
As of 2007, 168-pin SDRAM DIMMs are not used in new PC systems, and 184-pin DDR memory has been mostly superseded. DDR2 SDRAM is the most common type used with new PCs, and DDR3 motherboards and memory are widely available, but more expensive than still-popular DDR2 products.
So, while most ram is of the SDRAM type, there are differences in the number of pins/performance and the dimm slots they fit into.

Nice guide Tester...

Base type of RAM:
SDRAM- Syncronous Dynamic Random Access Memory. This includes:
DDR SDRAM- Double Data Rate SDRAM
DDR2 SDRAM- second generation DDR SDRAM
DDR3 SDRAM- third generation DDR SDRAM

Pin/physical configurations:

SIMM- Single in-line memory module
DIMM-dual in-line memory module

"Will SDRAM work on a DDR2 Plug?"

so after all this, the technical answer is yes...

"Will DDR2 SDRAM work on a DDR2 Plug?"

Will DDR2 SDRAM fit into a DDR3 SDRAM socket?

Hmmm... What I meant is that will DDR RAM work in a DDR 2 plug, but then it'd be super slow. It'd be nice if we had an External multi-ram case, where you could fit more the the 8 gig motherboard limit. What genius thought putting computers in a box was a good idea?
