I just bought a new HD and I need help installing it.

My old one is dead so I replaced it with a new one.

when I go to bios, it doesnt detect it. Primary Master and Slave is always not detected. Ive tried switching the jumper and the connector (black and gray) and it never detects it.
 
Okay, I got it detected now after playing with the jumper for a couple of hours. I dont know where to go from here... Any help?
 
Is this your only hard drive? If so, you now have to format it, partition it (if you want) and install your operating system which is probably Windows. Once Windows is installed, you install all your motherboard and other drivers, install your security software and then go to Windows update to.....well, update Windows.
 
Correction mailpup, first partition, then format. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to use the partition(s) without formatting them.
