Cable Modem

My modem is Suddenlink cable I have a Evo compaq computer Windows XP Professional driver intel
I install the pack 2 and it froze up my computer had to format now my usb controller when enable will not bootup it will lock up on the compaq page when I unplug the usb cord to the modem it will bootup I installed the controller from the intel site they sent me.
My modem is give me trouble stay connect any help or advice will be most welcome I'm at my wits end on this and it very upsetting to be disconnect often Thank you BJ

System specs
Either your modem is faulty (most likely) or the drivers are the wrong ones. Try another make of modem.
