Re-install XP? Upgrading from C2Duo to Quad Q6600

This is gonna sound silly, but should I re-install XP after installing a Q6600 CPU in place of an E6420?

I don't think it neccasary, just reset the BIOS - but I could be wrong.

If I was swapping to another C2D, I wouldn't bother asking, but being a Quad I'm concerned Windows may not recognise it properly.

Any ideas?

windows should recognize it just fine, no need to reinstall.

Just be sure you get a BIOS update if it's required since otherwise you may not be able to boot with the new CPU since the BIOS won't recognize it.
