Hey, I have a corporate installation CD for windows XP with SP2. I'm wondering if i can somehow install this XP so i can boot from the flashdisk?

Also, if i can somehow manage this, would i be able to boot this drive on other computers?

Quite simply, most of my family and some friends are running fairly old computers or windows versions before USBs 480Mbit support...I want to be able to boot from the flashdrive, copy large files to their computer and reboot to their HDD...
(I'm hoping that too can be done?)

A: Getting Windows XP to boot from a USB device is dark magic and very complicated
B: Since these old computers have USB1.1, doing anything via USB would be extremely slow.

Most of em have USB2.0 or thrown in a PCI USB2.0 card...
And how about if i get 2000with SP4 then?

Windows 2000 would not be any easier of faster than XP

Anyway, why would shutting down, booting from the flash drive, copying the files, shutting down, booting from the hard drive be any faster or better than simply inserting the flash drive, copying files?
