The system primary HDD, is protected by a password authentication system

hi

My Dell D600 laptop prompting a message saying "Hard-disk #***********-595B, the system primary HDD, is protected by a password authentication system" during the start up. Without this I am unable to access any thing. I will be grateful if you can help me how to unlock my computer

thank you
