I really need help

I was given an HP Omnibook XE and when I turn it on it asks for a password. I don't have this information is there anyway to get around it? I've been online trying to find a way but everything I have tried hasn't worked and I don't want to take apart the computer. My Hash Code is 08869 I have found that. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
