Asus Striker Extreme soundcard fried

Hi,

It is my very first post and i hope you guy´s can help me...
I got myself the very Cool Mainboard from Asus, Called Striker Extreme.
One of the accessorys was the Mini PCI Soundcard.
It ran well for about 2 - 3 weeks but suddenly it smelled like there´s something burning.
I quickly turned off my computer and i looked in it to find the problem.
The soundcard was !!!very!!! hot and on top of a chip was a burned spot.

I just wanted to know, if it´s a general problem of this MB or soundcard or if this just was a one time thing....

The PC runs still like hell :-) but without the soundcard. Thank God i still have warranty :-D

Bye

Darktic

You basically answered your own question. If it's still under warranty, take it back for a replacement.

You could also call (or e-mail ASUS) and discuss with tech support what happened. They may have some info for you.
