hi im using a desktop pc with orange wireless broadband.recently ive purchased a second hand dell inspiron pentium 2 laptop it has windows 98.it is wifi enabled i know very little about laptops ive been trying to get the laptop onto the internet through my orange broadband router can anyone please please help to talk me through this

I haven't used Windows 98 for a while now and it is no longer supported by Microsoft. Is there anyway you can install XP on the laptop?

Your laptop is old... If you can boot from a CD if you have one, get an XP CD and boot from it. Follow on screen instructions. If you don't have a CD forget it

Put the XP disc in the CD drive. Boot the laptop and follow the on-screen instructions. When you get to the partition screen, delete the partition shown, and install XP on the new formatted partition...
