Phenom Chipset
Does AMD's chipset that supports the quad core also support PCI-e 2.0? I know it supports DDR3, but Ive seen some Mobos with 4 PCI - E x 16 slots, what is this?

The AMD Phenom does not yet support DDR-3 (as it's the CPU that has the memory controller, not the northbridge chipset), that is only slated to happen early 2008 (or even further until DDR-3 prices are decent).
The newly released AMD 790X/FX chipsets do on the other hand support the PCI-e 2.0 standard. |
