I recently got a Compaq Presario desktop PC, model SR5050NX, with ASUS P5LP-LE motherboard. I decided to downgrade Vista to Windows XP Professional and it has given me a lot of headache since then. After the clean installation of XP, I went to the Intel support website and managed to get some of the drivers that were missing (RAID, Graphics, Chipset and Ethernet controllers, but there seem to be no way I can get the sound and the modem drivers that work for this system. I have also experienced lots of messages saying Windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Would someone help me with these issues, please!

Look for the XP drivers for the AsusP5LP board on the Asus site at http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-020683.htm - a previous thread found a solution there
