Freeloader_smitfraud virus
I have this virus on my computer and I don't know how to get rid of it. I try to download the pattern mappers but my computer is unable to open them because it keep saying it is an unknown file type. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Hi cakes9000 and welcome to TechSpot.
 You need to have a read of this - If your system is infected. Read this before deciding whether to CLEAN or REFORMAT. Then if you should wish to proceed with cleaning your system you need to go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly. Post fresh HJT, Combofix, and AVG Antispyware logs as ATTACHMENTS into a new thread in the Security and the Web forum. We also need to know the result of Panda Antirootkit. Please make sure you start a new thread as mentioned above. Do not post your logs here as this is the wrong forum for malware problems. Last edited by Rik; 12-08-2007 at 06:51 PM.
