Win XP won't repair - blue screen error message STOP: 0x0000007E klif.sys
Hi,
I’ve been having some problems with my PC using 70-80% of the CPU all the time. This occurred after installed Pro Tools LE. The software came from a less than reliable source. I’m running Windows XP pro. I tried to remove Pro Tools but I couldn’t get into the “add/remove” programs menu to do so as the PC was running very slow. I then decided that I would try and repair Windows by booting with the CD. I didn’t using the repair console but choose the “repair” option later in the install process. About 15mins into this process I received the following error message: ***STOP: 0x0000007E (ox0000005, 0xF6768F59, 0xF6E0FB54, 0xF6E0F850) ***klif.sys address F6768F59 base F6758000, date stamp 468266cd I then tried to run Windows in safemode but as it was halfway in between re-installing Windows when the error occurred I was unable to do this. I then rebooted and let the installation process continue and received the same error a few times. Then, after a few reboots the installation process restarted and I received a different error: IRQL_NOT_LESS_EQUAL 0x0000000A(0x00000010,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x804EFE2C) I’ve tried re-booting several times since and seem to get either of these 2 error messages. Any help would be appreciated. Aj7877 |
