Processor Cooling Fan
Has anyone out there installed a Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2 heat sink fan?? I just ordered one and am wondering if it will sufficiently cool my processor and lower the temp by at least 5 degrees celcius.

It's good. Watch the Fins when you are installing as they can be pretty sharp. |

That's good to know since it should be here today. I realize the processor runs hot; therefore, temps of 50-55 celcius aren't uncommon. What I was concerned with is the longevity of the processor. Heat over time cuts down on the life expectancy of the hardware.
Once again, thanks a bunch since my only other option to keep the interior of the case cool is to go water cooling, but I've heard some real horror stories about leakage and some of my buddies have gone that route and had the same problems. I had to add a couple of intake/exhaust fans since I'm also running an XFX 8800 GTX gfx card, and we all know what temps those things run at. Last edited by sghiznaneck; 01-08-2008 at 09:38 AM. |
