Help with password removal by shorting on Dell 1300
Thanks Obi for the link on shorting. I took the 1300 laptop apart and found the eeprom chip. When I short pins 4 and 5 I can get the FN-X message on the screen probably 40 % of the time. When I do get it, I can't do anything using FN-X or F2 on the keyboard. If I hit esc or just let it time out the grey screen asking for the password comes up. I even tried rebooting when the FN-X screen message appeared and it went straight back into the grey password screen. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks again in advance... |

It's a laptop not something to hold for sentimentality.
Use any means necessary to remove the password |

It may contain items produced by your father, in which case you would wish to preserve them :-)

Why can't you post those words here
Is this a pay for service ? Here's an older post by you: Quote:

I suspect it may not be free, and to post the details would be against the forum rules.
Please prove me wrong

Hey dbpk,
as opposed to................ someone with a stolen machine can contact you, pay you a fee and you will then help them unlock the stolen machine? |
