I have already done that. I'm in the bios now, but i can not do anything else because the harddrive is locked also. I have also lost my service tag, so i can not change the passwords.

Also I think if you can take out the hard drive and connect to another computer through an external case or a simple adpter, you can use software from the manufacturer to unlock the HD. What type of HD you got?

Only what I posted here: (Post #130)
http://www.techspot.com/vb/post574124-130.html

You know when I searched Ebay, there truly was a seller that removes Dell passwords for around $5 As TechSpot does not condone making money from members questions - I put this to you as referece only. And to others spending $100 on other members emails !!! But their choice.
Note: I did Not put these profitering email addresses on post #130 purposely.

I was hopeing they were selling master passwords. They give that impression.

Also I updated my #130 post, after your previous comments, so thanks for that.

Unfortunatley for me, those procedures on offer for $5 do not cover the d620

for those, who's trying the paperclip method with locked HDD. you'll lose your HDD password, if you partially erase eeprom.

There is such a huge amount of useful information posted on this forum about this problem, that any question you can ask has already been answered there.
This is a sizable problem throughout the countries where Dell markets this computer.
As a result, fixing it has become a business.
There are few alternatives for the average user, because the fix requires experience and a great deal of technical know-how.
Most who can fix the problem now charge a fee in excess of $100.
Free help, fully explained, is rarely available.
Good luck to you.
