Might not be the right forum, but I'm trying to understand the alpha channel concept. I primarily use Photoshop CS2, but I recently downloaded Gimp 2.4 since I only have PS for that other computer brand, and that computer is a laptop. I really wanted decent photo-editing capabilities on my desktop pc, so in came Gimp.

So, basically, I'm trying to expand my abilities, but I'm having trouble finding any resources explaining alpha channels from a beginner's viewpoint. Does anyone know of a good link?
