Anyone has idea how to power up my pc by changing settings of memory, CPU, etc.. I' m running on OS XPSP2, Pentium 4 3.0GHz, 2GB(4 X 512)RAM PC3200 in dual chanel, Motherbord ASUS P5VD1-X and Sapphire Radeon X800GT 256MB DDR3...
The system for me seems to be slowly... so I wnat to make it running better and faster
all the settings are default I didn't changed anything.

One thing you can probably do before altering any hardware settings is swing by msconfig (Start>Run>msconfig>Ok) and disable all the useless Services and applications you have set to load when you start the PC. Ensure that your system is free of malware and general maintenance has been performed.

It's not as simple as "powering up" your PC by altering your hardware's settings. There is a science to it, and it's one you don't want to get wrong because it will lead to system instability and possibly hardware failure. I've reviewed your motherboard's manual and it does support overclocking. In order for us to help you more you should download CPU-Z and screenshot the CPU/Memory tabs for us.

If you'd rather just dive in and hope for the best, go into your BIOS settings, head to the "Advanced" tab and enter the "JumperFree Configuration". Here you will see a setting called "AI Overclocking Tuner", and if you hit enter on it you should be presented with the options: Manual, Standard, Overclock 5%, Overclock 10%, Overclock 20%, Overclock 30%. Just select Overclock 5% save the settings and exit the BIOS. Use your system for a while and if it seems stable increase it to Overclock 10% and so on.

Well your PC may be running slow (or slower than it can be) because of the way you maintain your system. To ensure your system is free of malware see this thread.

If you follow what I said about going to (Start>Run>msconfig>Ok) you'll be presented with a window. Click on the "Startup" tab. These are all the applications that start with your system when you load Windows. Disable what you don't need. Then go to the Services tab and disable what you don't need there. Be sure to look everything up that you want to disable to be sure you don't actually need it.

You should defragment your hard drive as well.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter.

Your system spec's would suggest a sub 13 second boot and very fast performance if you have the correct mobo/cpu temps, systems slow when they
get to hot.
Check temps then try the following if you cpu runs around 45 underload its ok;
NOTE this only applies for XP 32bit SP2!
1. Turn off system resotre (control panel/system) also remove all but the latest restore point.
2. Turn off "index services" on all HDD (right click on drive and untick box and wait)
3. Defrag all drives
4. Delete everything in c:\windows\prefetch
5, Run a reg cleaner like regsupreme or regcleaner, my fav is maxregcleaner (delete all broken links)
6. Download hijackthis run and post findings
