The XL2540 should become the new best monitor for anyone playing fast-paced, competitive games at a high level. If your PC is powerful enough, you'll see a definite benefit thanks to the gorgeously smooth 240Hz refresh rate. The other little touches, like the side wings, OSD controller and plethora of gaming-specific modes all add value too. This monitor won't suit everyone due to its high price and relatively low resolution, but if you're serious about your gaming then the XL2540 could be the most essential weapon in your arsenal.

The BenQ Zowie XL2540 is 240Hz gaming monitor with a TN panel that is full of gaming features. It is incredibly responsive due to the high refresh rate and exceptionally low input lag, and also has the ability to flicker the backlight to clear up motion. It supports FreeSync which allows the refresh rate to adjust to the game, however, the picture quality is below average, and the edges of the screen lose accuracy due to the narrow viewing angle.

The BenQ ZOWIE XL2540 24.5″ 240Hz PC e-Sports Monitor is a great monitor to be sure, and it outputs a nice high quality picture. However the smaller than I’m used to size really did play a lot on my use of the monitor. For games it wasn’t enough, but movies it was great. The BenQ ZOWIE XL2540 24.5″ 240Hz PC e-Sports Monitor is not a main monitor to be sure, but a nice little side monitor for other projects.

The Zowie XL2540 e-sports monitor makes an excellent choice for both professional and casual gamers, thanks to its design and features. It definitely comes as a boon for e-sports FPS games like CS:GO and Overwatch, where framerate can play a highly crucial role for the player. However, the monitor’s high cost can make a dent in your wallet. And the problem with having a 240 Hz monitor is that you need a powerful rig to get that high a framerate, and presently the maximum framerate I’ve seen on most games is about 150 FPS (with a few exceptions). Drawing tenuous analogies, the XL2540 is like a track car insofar as it is very good in one respect but not fantastic elsewhere. The colours are decent, if not outstanding, going by results obtained using a colourimeter, the viewing angles are standard for a panel of this type. In fact, it's merely average as a productivity screen, too, so this really is a gaming monitor first and foremost.

BenQ nous offre un bel écran, avec un look bien gamer et qui a de quoi plaire aux plus pointus d’entre eux. L'écran offre une multitude d’options que ce soit en connectique, bundle ou réglages. Si la colorimétrie n’est pas parfaite (et ça le sera difficilement sur du TN) elle reste bonne pour sa catégorie et la multitude de réglages permettra de l’affiner à son goût, tout en sachant que la réactivité sera au rendez-vous. Le 240Hz est quant à lui difficile à juger, s’il offre un confort visuel sans précédent, il faut compter sur notre config actuelle pour essayer d’atteindre cette fréquence en jeu.
