The Core 2 Duo E6700 is a superior performer, no doubt about that, but at $500 it is not the best value option. The E6300 costing just $180 might have been 27% slower in the 1MB Super PI calculation test, but it is also 64% cheaper. The E6300 destroyed the overclocked Athlon64 3800+ in all the CPU tests, as you would expect, suggesting that this $1000 gaming system should also be faster in many tasks and scenarios.
