Hi Im terry, and am new to the community, and as with most people here I have a problem that I cant put right. I have a 1 tb external toshiba hard drive, and until this morning, it worked fine, but now when I switch it on the red led that normally turns blue, flashes blue instead, and the compouter does not recognise it at all. HELP Please !!!!!

The external drives power supply (or AC adapter) could have failed

that does not tally, as the led lights are still on, surely if power supply had failed, there would be no lights

The LED's are usually powered by 5 volts. The drive requires 5 and 12 volts to operate... You could be missing the 12 volts... Now does that tally? See if you can go to Toshiba's support site for help with this. Is the external drive still under vwarranty?
