115 or 230 on psu?

i have recenlty been having some problems with my power supply, it has not been powering my 5700 ulta correctly. i recently saw some reviews for more psu and it said to switch the 115v swtich on the back to 230...would this be a good idea..what would be the difference...thanks

what do you have running in your comp,(fans, watercooling system, cards ect.)

The input voltage switch has to be set to whatever comes out of your wall socket. If your outlet voltage happens to be 230V then your PSU should be dead by now.

Going from 115 to 230 will just make your PSU not work until you switch back.
