250gig sata drive problems

Can anyone tell me if my drive is dead lol, im 98% sure that it is, but would like confirmation if anyone else can varify it, basically when you plug it in, the bios detects it, but says it cannot access drive, then bout 5 seconds after its turned on, it clicks 10 clicks, then stops for about 5 seconds, then does another 10 clicks, then the drive powers down, when windows boots up, i get the small popup that says drive detected, but it powers down before it can do anything, im guessing with it clicking its fairly bad but heh, as im not an expert if anyone could help or advise if theres anything i could do to revive it would be helpfull.. regards tom.

i think you are most likely right thinking its dead, the clicking will be caused by the arm trying to read the disk.
Has the HDD been dropped or hit very hard it may have dislodged something?
The best thing to do is either get it replaced by the store if new and you still have the receipt or take it to a repair centre they will be able to tell you the exact problem.
