Try running this to check the temperature of you GPU.

Please attach the minidumps for analasys.

I would not use a Beta driver for the GPU, use the most recent that is not still in Beta.

just done tests on memory and no faults, they seem to be ok,i've just read on a web site that someone had a geforce 8800gt and was told that it would be able to play 3d games but not video 3d playback,do you know if this is true.
    cheers

No, that is not true according to this which recommends that card for 3D playback.

I need to look at what you have in your system, please follow this guide to post a log using HijackThis. Please use a right click when starting the program and select "Run As Administrator".

    Download and install HJT

When the TrendMicro HJT install box appears, double click on the HJTInstall.exe. Click on Install.
    * It will be installed by default here: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
    * A shortcut to the application will also be placed on your Desktop.
    * The program will open automatically after installation.
    * The folder HijackThis is where you will find the HJT logs that you save.
    * The first time you open HijackThis, check the Main Menu button at the bottom center. When the main menu appears check the box "Show this window when I start HijackThis".
    * Click on "Do a system scan and save logfile." When the log pops up in Notepad, copy and paste that file back here as a New Message in this forum.

The use of HJT is purely for observation please do not try to fix anything with it or you may damage your system.

I don't see anything in the HJT log that could be causing the problem.

I have found the time to examine the minidumps and they suggest a faulty driver or memory, but unfortunately nothing specific.

Although Memtest has given the all clear there are ocassions when it misses a minor fault. The test for this is to remove all but one of your memory sticks and run the PC as normal to see if you still get BSOD's which each stick in turn. You might just find that only one of the sticks will cause problems.

I would also check on the manufacturers site for the recommended RAM voltage and look in the Bios to make sure it is set correctly.

If this all comes up clear the next thing will be to test your systems drivers.
