550w for GTX 570?

I've posted my doubt about my PSU I know my psu can handle my setup, but I'm comparing prices and I thought it better to pay a little more for a GTX 570 instead of buying the GTX 560, but I do not know if my PSU can handle ,is a 550w xfx edition core P1-550S-XXB9, it can handle a single GTX 570?I will not overclock.

1x hd 500gb ,1x hd 160Gb 1x optical drive

1x EVGA GTX 570 1Gb

asus p8p67-LE

G.Skill ripjaws x DDR3 1333MHz 8GB(2x4gb)

Intel Core i5 2500

550w is enough?should i upgrade to 650w? ,my budget is not too high .Thanks.

Nvidia recommends a minimum 550W PSU so you are right at the edge but it should work. I believe it should also have 38 amps on the 12V rail(s). Not all 550W power supplies are the same. Don't go too cheap.

I have a Corsair 550W PSU and run an i7 920 @3.6Ghz and GTX 570 @825Mhz core so I think you should be fine on the basis that your i5 2500 consumes much less power and you're not OC'ing your graphics card. Also XFX make decent PSUs.

Anyway if you're going to spend money on upgrading the PSU you should get an 800W+ PSU in case you ever think of going SLI/CF.

What is your psu model and your PC spec?have you played games like Battlefield 3 ,Crysis 2 ,MW3 on ultra settings? It's on the XFX official website that my PSU have 44 amps on the 12v rail (dammit ,can't post the link :(),and nvidia recomends a power supply with 38 amps on the 12v rail ,so i think that my PSU should work.

My PSU is the Corsair VX550, you can see my specs in the drop down box on the right.

I've played all those games on max settings and my system runs fine. The i5 2500 eats much less power than the i7 920 so you should be fine. You can always upgrade the PSU if you find that the power isn't enough.

You are not gonna run ULTRA on BF3 with a 570 unless your happey with 25fps
