  1. I was wondering what exactly do I need to run a 64bit OS? I was thinking about getting the 64bit version of the Vista RC. I have a 64bit CPU i know its an Athlon 64 3000. Is there any other hardware requirements?

If you're thinking about running Vista, make sure you have some video-muscle under the hood. I've played around with Vista some and it's quite graphically intense (but it looks great). You may also want to consider an Athlon X2...

Yeah my current specs arent that good, but i might be upgrading soon(well getting a whole new system). The upgrade if it ever happens will probably be using a Core 2 Duo. but yeah do you know if all i need is a 64bit capable cpu for the 64bit version of vista? The core 2 duo's r 64bit capable rnt they?

You will be able to run 64 bit Vista on that.

Yes, Core 2 Duos are 64 bit as well.

There are no other specific hardware requirements, all you need is a 64bit CPU.
