afaik, there is only 1 national language: Filipino, no other variants.
citizens of the Philippines are also called Filipinos (plural), Filipino (singular), Filipina (if female but I personally disagree with this feminization)

if by what the author means is Philippine dialects, then there are many. tagalog dialect (main language in Luzon) and Cebuano (main language used in the Visayas and Mindanao)

please don't tell me that at nighttime he is the BATMAN . :)

I know a couple dozen Filipinos from various sections and all say the national language is Tagalog.

The national language is Filipino, the bulk of which is based on Tagalog. some words derived from Cebuano (also called Bisaya), Chabacano (Spanish-based dialect from the zamboanga peninsula), and other dialects are now incorporated into our national language.

then they need to back to grade one as they did not know even the most basic information.

the info below will only be understood by Filipinos:
    battle of the brainless:
mc: national hero of the Philippines? clue: J.R.
    contestant: jeric raval?
    mc: no, he's a doctor
    contestant: doctor jeric raval!
    mc: no, he's already dead.
contestant: what? jeric raval is already dead?

This is absolutely insane! Very clever on his part to create a bot that can do that... props to him.
