    Hello

My computer is for some reason running 89 processes and using up lots of memory. I have no idea why.

    Operating system: Windows 7 Pro
    RAM: 6GB
    HDD: 1TB
    CPU: Core i7 2.66GHz
    GPU: Gainward GTX275

I have atached a highjack this log if it may help :)

89 Processes is not a huge number but has this suddenly increased ? have a good look through them and see if you can spot ones that you do not recognise and see which ones are using a lot of memory.

Has there been a sudden decline in the performance of the PC?

yes there has been a recent drop in perfomance

First question; Are you using 64 bit version of pro? If not you're wasting ram and you found your reason for 60% ram usage.

If you answer my post No2 in full then we can move on. You need to check what I suggested, tell me what you find and answer both questions.

You could have Malware, but to help diagnose what is causing your problem you need to respond to what I have asked. Remember, I can't see your PC:).
