Do you think I could get away with running

    - 65' Widescreen TV
    - DVD player
    - 5 disk CD player
    - XBOX
    - reciever

all on a 900w APC Smart UPS backup system or will it all overload it.

From what I understand about UPS' you can hook up whatever you want to them. If you are pulling more than they allow, then it simply won't act as a battery backup, but better yet a surge protector. That is what APC told me when I bought my new UPS and told them what I had hooked up to it. They said it won't support all that for battery backup purposes, but it will act as a nice surge protector.

All devices have their maximum wattage either written on them or stated in their manuals. Just add the numbers up and see what you get.
