I have a Sony notebook computer, model PCG-461L, my mom bought it for herself a very long time ago and is still in very good condition. Its been doing nothing for awhile and I would like to bring this baby back to life to use either for school or just net-booking. It currently has Windows XP home edition, and would like some advice on upgrading the ram, and perhaps finding a better OS for it.
    Any help is appreciated.

If you are considering a newer Windows OS for it, first see if there are compatible drivers available for the chipset, LAN, sound, video, etc. or you may never get it to work properly.
