My GF 6600 Failed, so i need a new Video card.
MotherBoard:
MSI G31M3-F LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
The Board from NewEgg(For Specs
EnerMax PowerSupply
It worked Just fine with the 6600.
I prefer something between Geforce 9600 or better, to be able to run something like Gta san andreas on max and recording the screen,Call Of Duty 4,5 Series on high.(if it's possible with 96xx versions)
And would like to buy it in Norway.
PCI Express x16 slot (PCI Express Bus SPEC V1.0a compliant)

Thanks in the Advice! :)

A lot depends on your budget.
A 9600gt runs about $70

A 9800GT about $100

If you have a little more to spend $130-$160
A new DX11 ATI Radeon HD5750 or HD5770 would be a better (and more futureproof ) option.

I would definately reccomend one of the DX11 cards if you can afford it since the geforce 9600/9800 are basically 2 generations back (technically 1 gen back since nvidia hasn't released and DX11 cards yet and isn't expected too untill next year).
I'm not sure about price, avalibility, or where you would need to order from in Norway. Hopefully there are other members with further knoledge of that.

If you have the money and really want to max out games the Radeon HD58xx series is the way to go ($280 for the HD 5850, $390 for The HD5870) These are really too powerful for your system since the old lowend motherboard chipset (and lowend CPU and RAM) whould likely bottleneck the card. These cards would only make sense if you were also upgradeing these components.

I'm really interested in the 9800GT one. but a thing. will my powersupply supply enough power for it? will it fit to my motherboard? will other components fit with it? (1gb ram, some kingston)1 module.
And, will it fit into my Motherboard?
Here i found it in norway, there's information.

Width 11.1 cm
Depth 22.9 cm
EDIT:
othe other card is out of stock i think, so i found this one:

I would prefer with that "case" thing on the graphics card, as i have a window in my Case so it would be nice to see it with some cool WoW sticker :)

go for the 9800gt, the 9500gt is a weak card and will not play creed on high settings with any kind of acceptable frame rate. second unless there is no difference in price...forget the 1 gb version, it is useless as.... (pick your favorite joke), on a card of that limited capability.

The 9500 Cost around 600 krones, while the 9800 Costs over 800 Krones. there is a difference :) oh, i will check in newegg shop now.

It will fit your motherboard just fine, any PCI express card will work. Your 550w PSU is more than sufficient. Diminsions only apply to it fitting in your case (it's not a verry large card so any midtower or full tower should be fine and it will probably fit in most minitowers.) As others have said the 9500 (and 9400) are virtually worthless. I wouldn't go any lower than a 9600.

Thanks for your answer.
Yes, i've decided to go with a 9800 GT. Now I'm searching for the best price in norway. I don't think it will be cheaper to transport it from UK/USA as the transport prices will be high and it will take some time.
Maybe you know what is the good normal price for 9800 GT?

in the US it is right around $100, I don't know how that converts to the krone....110 maybe?

i would get an ati 4850 over the 9800 gt alot better card for the same or less money

It's kind of hard to justify either the 9800gt (roughly $100) or radeon 4850 ( roughly$110) whan you can get a DX11 Radeon HD 5750 for $130 assumeing you can find one since 5xxx series radeons seem to be virtually impossible to find instock anywhere. I don't know how much they would cost in Norway or the avalibility. The direct exchange rate is about 5 krones to 1 US dollar but we all know everything is more expensive in Europe (extra taxes) so these cards will definately cost more than they do in the US (the 9800gt bielius linked costs about $175 US dollars and it sells for $110 on Newegg)

i dont know what you mean here because ive seen some 4850 cards for as little as $90 on newegg and just for your information a 5750 seems to me it would be a waste when it and the 4850 are comparable also there is the fact that that dx 11 will not really be relevant in the life of the card anyways.

So What do i do, I'm not looking on the future, as i don't play Crysis or far cry on maxes. And im on budget around 100 Dollars(make it that i will buy it in America :)) +-10 dollars.

EDIT:
I read the comments.
Some say that games hang, color flickers, etc.
Some say it works good. who can i believe? can you help me with this card?(the ATI 4850 One)

The ATI HD 4850 would be a better buy. It performs slightly better than the 9800GT and is probably a wee bit cheaper.

So, Which do you recommend? I know the ICE-Q is good(i like the cover, noone of other cards has one :)) And it has decent cooling as you said. but what about the resolution? i've red that it's very low to compare with those others.
Again, thanks for your answers.

EDIT:
Please both of you who have 4850, tell me about the card. i've red some comments on that card that to someone it color flickers and lags, hangs etc. what about your card?

I don't know what you mean by 'lower resolution'. the resolution is determined by what you choose when you game, or choose your desktop res, etc...the cards are all the same except for cooling solution, and the color of the pcb. You might also consider the warranty period, it appears the ASUS cards are three years as opposed to 2 years for the HIS card. unless you are going to gaming @ 1920 x 1080 or above, you can save a buck or two by getting the 512mb version as opposed to the 1Gb.

beware of the consumer reviews, there is always going to be those who have a problem with any product. the 4850 has no known issues with it, and is compatible with your system. I run 3 of them in Crossfire and have no problems with them. its a powerful card at a great price. if you are looking for a single card solution, you might also look into the 4870, its price has dropped dramatically as well.

Yes, i've thought about buying a 4870 as you reccomended, but now i have a problem.
http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=423602
It requires 2 pins who have 6 pins (i mean two wires to the board who have 6 pins) And my board has only 1 pin with 6 endings(pins) so, what do i do?

EDIT: please answer fast, because im in lack of info now, and my mom is buying the card soon to me >.<

The card should come with one or two adapters to convert two molex connectors to one 6 pin PCI-E. If it doesn't, you can always buy one. They aren't expensive.

Is this is what you meant?
