This is my first post and I just wanted to register and say thanks. Even though I wasn't a member here at the time, the information I found here helped me fix the dreaded "google search redirect" virus/trojan/whatever it was,..
I tried HiJack This, Malwarebytes, SuperSomething-or-other and finally had to use ComboFix.
The problem appears to be fixed now. I tell ya, getting a bug is one hell of a welcome to someone back in the PC/Windows game for 3 days after being in the Mac world for the last 10 years.
So, just wanted to say thank you to everyone who suggested ComboFIx, even if it wasn't to me.
On a side note, once my issue was fixed and I came back to register, Firefox was unable to display the image verification in your captcha, I had to open IE 8 to register. Don't know if that's something to do with my recent problem or what, but I thought I would mention it.
Look forward to making some friends and gathering some good info here.
