Access denied as admin (win 2K) ???

I have win 2k on home machine, logged in always as administrator. For some reason I suddenly can not get to (C:/winnt/system32) /services / ftp /tftp /cmd

    I can't run defrag, etc.....

Box says "access to file "X" denied."

If I am admin, what happened?

Is this a virus? I've updated Norton, and scanned, but it quits halfway through without finding anything. Then if I check the scan log, it reports access was denied to the above files.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks,
    Keith

in your other post, I explained that I suspect someone has hacked you and are running a daemon (serv-u). follow my instructions, and then pach your computer and change your passwords.

Yes, you got virus. Probably the MSblaster.
The securities of those programs: tftp.exe or defrag....exe were changed to deny on all.
Reset security will allow you to run. Let me know if this helps.
